Use descriptive titles so buyers will find your products |
Also type a good description of your product using terms that your likely buyers would type in a search bar.
I'm sometimes guilty myself for not doing this, but I'm more aware of it now and I'm starting to go back to edit and change some of my titles.
Recently, I earned a large and very nice commission on some throw pillows. (Thanks goes out to the person who referred them. They earned a nice 15% on the sale.) The surprising thing is that the pillows did not have any designs on them at all. That's right. They were solid colored pillows! I've said it before and I'll say again, you don't need to be an artist to make money on Zazzle.
How did I get the sale? If you do a search on Zazzle for throw pillows, you will see that there are well over 800,000 throw pillows for sale! That number fluctuates because people are constantly creating more or deleting some from their Zazzle store. Within that
number, there are tens of thousands of different solid colored pillows. So, what's the difference between my throw pillows and the others? Many of them are the very same color as mine. It's the descriptive title, keywords and the description I gave them.
It's important to think like your potential buyer. You need to think about what they would type in to search for the product they want. For example, if you're selling a certain bright, orange colored product, don't just type in "orange widget" or whatever it is. If the color reminds you of orange sherbet ice cream, type in something like "bright orange sherbet widget". Again, use terms that you think the customer will use to find your product.
It's a good thing that the product title, description, and keywords can be edited. I've updated some of mine. To edit yours all you need to do is sign in and click on the products link and then click edit.
Until next time, keep on Zazzlin'
P.S. Zazzle has come out with even more new products. I haven't yet had time to create many of them. Some of the new products are baby bibs, keepsake boxes, dog collars, night lights, trailer hitch covers, favor boxes, purse hangers, and porcelain plates. So, there are more opportunities to create custom products and earn money with Zazzle.
